Want to learn how to develop the right visual art direction to tell a story for an animation production?

This is a great class designed for intermediate design artists to learn how to create a strong and unified art direction involving characters, environments, props, and color with an unique visual style.

Topics such as how to plan your approach of attack in developing an art direction for animation preproduction, an understanding of preproduction and production pipeline, how to fine tune and develop a clear art style to serve both the story and production needs, and how to visually tell a story to help move our audiences.

Due to the multi-discipline nature of this course, a portfolio review is required for entry.

To sign up, please enroll through our enrollment store first to place your tuition deposit and send us your portfolio to get the review started.

The first portfolio review is this Saturday, May 29th after 6pm PDT.

In this class, the students will learn how to freehand draw solid geometric forms, efficient texture indication techniques, plants, animals, insect, to planes and tanks.

The goal is to show students how any complex objects can be simplified into its most basic geometry and be reassembled in any perspective on your drawing. Through drawing a wide variety of subjects, the students will see how the same drawing process can be applied to anything you want to draw.

Through the weekly lectures, feedback and HW drawings, the students will build the skill, drawing mileage and confidence that will serve as the bed rock of their visual communication skills as a concept or storyboard artist.

This is an 8 week intensive course focusing on the creation and film making process of Master Filmmakers of present and the past. This class is great for anyone who is interested in storyboard or visual storytelling and wanted to expand their film staging vocabulary in a short time.
